We are a Stephen Ministry Church!
After over a year and a half of COVID-19, it might be hard to remember that the United Methodist Church of Hyde Park has many dynamic ministries aimed at outreach, nurture, and transformation. One of the newest ministries in the church that had barely begun when COVID-19 hit, is Stephen Ministry.
A Stephen Minister is a volunteer from a local church who has undergone extensive training in the confidential care and nurture of people who are experiencing a season of life where challenge or strain has become overwhelming. The local Stephen Ministry coordinator, Beverly Broadright, prayerfully considers all needs, seeking God's discernment in the process of matching folks to helpers who can best walk beside those who would like to have someone with whom to share the load.
As we begin to emerge from physical isolation, many of us are facing unique spiritual and emotional feelings that we might be able to handle better if we had someone with which to share our feelings. Others of us may feel that we have gifts to offer others for the healing of the world, whether you would like to become or to have Stephen Minister, we would love to hear from you. You can email Pastor Kregg, kreggmg@gmail.com, anytime and he will pass along your contact information to the right person to get you connected, or email Bev directly at umchpstephenministry@gmail.com.
